Hey all, I have perhaps a ridiculous question. I am using the MSP430F149 to interface with a digital camera module. The camera is an I2C device and as you know the F149 is not. I am in the process of implementing a software I2C, but am having some difficulties understanding some of the specifics of I2C. Here comes the stupid part.I was wondering if I could just skip the software part and purchase a 'TTL to I2C chip?' Is there such a thing? If not.is there anyone out there that knows everything about I2C that would not mind fielding what I am sure will amount to some simple questions about it. Thanks a lot. I have a 149 project that talks to two I2C devices. Pins 5 and 6 are the I2C lines – these will be connected to the MSP430’s SCL and SDA pins which we will configure in software. However, as we learned previously, they require pull-up resistors. Typical values for pull-up resistors on an I2C bus range from 4.7kOhms to 10kOhms. The first device is a flash memory chip and the second is a Phillips USB chip. I know more than I want to about the I2C interface. Ask your questions. I have also posted code on this forum that can be used as a model to get you started. Ted Gregorius (Pres) TAG Systems Racing Products, Inc. SoftBaugh have an example I2C driver for their D169 demo board, which was given out at the F169 debut event. The software drives a TMP100 IIRC, so you can start there. I don't have the URL to hand but a Google should help. -- Paul Curtis, Rowley Associates Ltd CrossWorks for MSP430 and ARM processors > -----Original Message----- > From: Jason [mailto:jlh_1974@jlh_.] > Sent: 28 October 2003 20:56 > To: msp430@msp4. > Subject: [msp430] software I2C > > > Hey all, > > I have perhaps a ridiculous question.
